Warehouse Robot Rush

Run an automated fulfilment centre shift by shift. Deploy robots against a rising order wave, keep utilisation out of the danger zone, and stop a backlog cascade - an M/M/c queue you can feel. Press Run to start.

About this game

Warehouse Robot Rush - the utilisation cliff

The concept

A fulfilment centre is an M/M/c queue: orders arrive at rate λ, c robots each serve at rate μ. Stability needs ρ = λ/(cμ) < 1, and waiting time rises sharply as ρ nears 1.

How it works

Each shift the order wave meets your robot fleet. If arrivals exceed capacity, backlog carries into the next shift and compounds. Cost rises with robots; score rewards the healthy-utilisation band.

Winning strategy

Hold ρ in the 75–90% band - enough buffer to absorb spikes without paying for idle robots. Batch picking lifts effective μ cheaply.
