IoT FIGHTER
Street-arcade rules. One boss per round, one hard IoT question per boss. A right answer is a knockout punch (+100 first try, +50 second try). A wrong answer costs you 25 HP - and you only have 100. Survive all ten bosses to win the belt.
Solo: random boss order. Contest: everyone in the class fights the same seeded order. Instructor: demo mode, no HP loss.
How to play
- 1. Pick a modeSolo shuffles the bosses for you; Contest uses the class join code so everyone fights the identical seeded sequence; Instructor is a no-damage demo.
- 2. Read fast, think hardEach question has 60 seconds. These are exam-hard: protocols, radio physics, standards and power budgets - not definitions.
- 3. Right = knockoutA correct answer lands the blow and the boss goes down: +100 on the first attempt, +50 on the second.
- 4. Wrong = take the hitA wrong answer (or timeout) costs 25 HP and greys out that option; you get exactly one more chance. Lose all 100 HP and it is game over.
About this tool
The concept
IoT turns a supply chain into a stream of decisions: which protocol, which radio, which data standard, where to compute, how to secure a million devices. Each choice is a trade-off between latency, power, cost and reliability - exactly what each boss question forces you to weigh.
How it works
Ten multiple-choice questions cover MQTT QoS, LoRaWAN vs NB-IoT, RAIN RFID physics, edge vs cloud, GS1 EPCIS, sensor drift, mean kinetic temperature, digital twins, device identity and power budgeting. Answers are scored, damage is applied, and every question ends with a short teaching explanation.
Winning strategy
Eliminate options by constraint: what does the latency budget forbid? What does the power budget forbid? What does the physics forbid? The remaining option is usually the answer - that reasoning, not memorisation, is the actual IoT design skill.
